what i teach at the piano

I'll help you learn your favorite music. Adele, Diddy or music from your iPod. Some of my students study traditional classical music, very simple, intermediate, or advanced. Easy classics to the best of Mozart or Beethoven. Jazz is fun. Standards or Modern Jazz, Broadway or Bill Evans. I've played in lots of Rock n Roll bands. We can play music from your favorite Rock or Indie bands. Twinkle Twinkle works for really young kids. With Jazz improv, we can look at Major and Minor Blues Scales or dig into Melodic Minor Hexatonic Theory and Diminished Scale Theory. Maybe you want to improvise Rock or play Boogie or Blues. Method books are good for learning to read music. I've got lots of easy to learn pieces that sound great. It doesn't have to be complicated to sound good. Ballads from the 1940's sound great on the piano. Many of my students play Disney, Video Game music or Rags. Often vocalists want help with their Accompaniments and Arranging. Half of my students are kids and half are adults. I teach Composition and Song Writing and help Music Theory students make sense of it all. Whether it's Elvis, Sinatra, Gershwin, Cole Porter, Taylor Swift, Ellington, Bach, Harry Potter, Death Cab, Coltrane, Altered Scales, or Mary Had a Little Lamb, you'll have fun playing Cool Music that means something to you.
