Through the early 2000's, The Jerry Michelsen Trio and The Jerry Michelsen Quartet performed locally in Southern California. We were one of four house bands for many years at Ki's Restaurant in Cardiff. Instrumentation is grand piano, upright bass, drums and sometimes trumpet or saxophone. I often play harmonica and sing. We've performed in several local restaurants in Encinitas and Carlsbad, including Calypso and Tuscany. I played as a soloist at When In Rome. The band continues to play wedding receptions, private parties, conventions, clubs, and concerts. The Jerry Michelsen Trio is a popular choice for local parties, adding an elegant flair with acoustic based music founded in the traditions of America's Golden Era of jazz, blues, and rock.
